1. Product overview

tesa® 54485 Fireman Access is a fire-, heat-, and puncture-resistant multilayer sealing solution, designed with a glass fiber laminated aluminum layer, PET reinforcement, and a thick acrylic adhesive. It provides secure sealing of battery housing holes against water and dust during normal operation while ensuring controlled high-temperature opening for emergency access. The product offers reliable corrosion protection, robust puncture resistance, and strong adhesion to a variety of automotive lightweight construction substrates.

  • Applied inside battery housing during assembly to seal fireman access holes

  • Shields passenger compartments from fire and heat for 5 minutes during battery fires

  • Enables firemen to flood and extinguish batteries without additional equipment
