1. Product Overview

Araldite® CW 1446 BDF resin combined with Aradur® HY 2918 hardener and DY 062 accelerator is a filled epoxy casting system designed for electrical insulation. It demonstrates excellent impregnation capability, good dielectric properties, and reliable thermal shock resistance. The cured system is flame-retardant (UL 94 V-0 at 6 mm) and suitable for applications requiring high mechanical and electrical stability.

2. Applications

The system is widely used in power diodes, rectifiers, power transistors, transformers, and capacitors. It is suitable for casting and vacuum casting processes, especially where void-free impregnation and flame-resistant insulation are critical.

3. Typical Properties

This casting system delivers controlled processing characteristics, including adjustable pot life depending on accelerator content, stable viscosity, and reliable curing cycles. Once cured, it provides strong tensile and flexural strength, high hardness, thermal stability in Class H, and robust dielectric insulation. Its low water absorption and resistance to tracking make it ideal for long-term use in electrical components.
