1. Product Overview

RenGel® SW 404 combined with Ren® HY 2404 or HY 5159 is a filled epoxy gelcoat system designed to deliver high mechanical strength, very hard surfaces, and outstanding abrasion resistance. It provides strong chemical resistance and produces durable, smooth, and protective layers for tooling and moulding applications.


2. Applications

This system is used in foundry patterns, copy-milling models, foaming and concrete-casting moulds, tools, and tooling aids. It ensures long service life of moulds by resisting wear, chemical attack, and mechanical stress.

3. Typical Properties

The epoxy gelcoat system offers stable processing with different hardener options (HY 2404 or HY 5159), allowing tailored pot life and curing. After cure, it exhibits high hardness, strong abrasion resistance, and reliable thermal performance. With Shore D hardness up to 90 and low abrasion loss, it is well-suited for heavy-duty moulding applications requiring durable surfaces.
