  1. Product Overview
    MOLYKOTE® 5 Compound is a greaselike, nonconductive silicone paste formulated with phenylmethyl-based fluid and inert silica filler. It provides dielectric insulation, water repellency, oxidation resistance, and long-lasting protection across a wide temperature range of -54°C to 232°C. The material is easy to apply by hand, brush, or automated equipment and is designed to prevent arcing, flashovers, and moisture intrusion in demanding electrical and industrial applications. It contains no PTFE or PFAS.
  2. Applications
    This compound is used on insulators, bushings, and high-voltage switches to prevent conductive paths and arcing. It serves as a lubricant for O-rings in hot-melt adhesive equipment, as a moisture barrier in service entrance cables, and for corrosion protection of insulator threads, bolts, and watt-hour meter contacts. It is also suitable for assemblies requiring reliable electrical insulation combined with lubricity.
