1. Product Overview

ARALDITE® 2053-15 A/B is a two-part (2K), toughened methacrylate structural adhesive designed for high-performance bonding. It provides a 15-minute open time, high elongation at break (60%), and excellent resistance to aging, weathering, and temperatures up to 100°C. Suitable for bonding metals, composites, and plastics, it is especially recommended for transportation and industrial applications. The adhesive is fast-curing, flexible, and requires minimal substrate pre-treatment, making it efficient for both manual and robotic applications.

  • Compatible Substrates: Metals (aluminum), composites, plastics

  • Typical Uses: Structural bonding in automotive, aerospace, and industrial components

  • Application Notes:

    • Can be applied via cartridges with mixers

    • Recommended adhesive layer: 0.25 mm for optimal lap shear strength

    • Temperature range for application: 10–40°C

    • Pretreatment: Degrease with acetone or isopropanol; mechanical abrasion or chemical etching recommended for strongest joints
