DOWSIL™ 748 Non-Corrosive Sealant is a one-component, ready-to-use silicone adhesive/sealant that cures at room temperature upon exposure to moisture in the air. It features a non-sag, paste consistency, making it easy to apply on vertical or overhead surfaces without slumping. This neutral cure (alkoxy cure system) sealant emits low odor during curing and is designed to provide durable adhesion to a wide range of substrates without causing corrosion, making it suitable for use on sensitive metals and electronic components. Once cured, it remains stable and flexible over a broad temperature range from –55°C (–67°F) to +177°C (350°F). Additionally, it complies with FDA 21 CFR 177.2600 for indirect food contact and meets UL 94 HB flame classification standards.

Applications

DOWSIL™ 748 Non-Corrosive Sealant is suitable for general industrial sealing and bonding applications where a non-corrosive cure is required. Its low odor and non-corrosive properties make it ideal for use in corrosion-sensitive electrical and electronic equipment, including printed circuit boards (PCBs) and other sensitive components. The sealant’s compliance with FDA 21 CFR 177.2600 also makes it appropriate for applications involving indirect food contact.
