1. Product Overview

MOLYKOTE® D-321 R is an air-curing dry-film lubricant available in bulk liquid or aerosolized spray form. It is designed for metal-to-metal applications requiring high load resistance, wear protection, and reduced friction.

2. Applications

  • Lubrication of metal/metal combinations with slow to medium-fast movements under high loads
  • Used in plain bearings, bushings, sleeves, power screw drives, and threaded connections

  • Aerosolized spray is ideal for hard-to-reach surfaces, chains, and multi-purpose applications

4. Usage & Application

Surface Preparation:

  • Clean and degrease the surface before application
  • Phosphatization or sandblasting (180 grit) improves adhesion and service life

Application Method:

  • Stir or roll bulk liquid thoroughly before applying by brush or spray
  • Shake aerosolized cans well before use and apply in a sweeping motion
  • Recommended dry-film thickness: 5 to 20 µm

Drying & Curing Time:

  • Touch-dry: 5 minutes at 23°C (or 1 minute with hot air at 80°C)
  • Fully cured: 2 hours at 23°C

Solubility & Thinning:

  • Can be thinned with MOLYKOTE® L-13 Thinner
