1. Product Overview

Chemlok® 6958 is a high-performance adhesive designed to bond a wide range of rubber compounds to metal. It consists of polymers, organic compounds, and mineral fillers in an organic solvent system. Typically applied over Chemlok® 299 primer, it offers strong adhesion, high temperature resistance, fluid resistance, and corrosion protection in demanding environments.

2. Applications

  • Bonding elastomers: NR, IR, SBR, BR, CR to metal.

  • Suitable for cold rolled steel and aluminum substrates.

  • Effective in high-heat and fluid-exposed environments.

  • Used in vulcanization processes, with or without primer (depending on film thickness).

  • Industrial settings requiring durability, corrosion resistance, and hot fluid exposure.
