1. Product Overview
3M™ Neoprene High Performance Contact Adhesive 1357 is a versatile, solvent-based adhesive engineered for industrial use in heavy-duty lamination and bonding applications. Known for its long-lasting adhesion and resistance to soak-in, it provides reliable performance under challenging conditions. With strong water resistance and the ability to withstand temperatures up to 121–148°C, it ensures durable bonding to metals, plastics, wood, and composites. Its fast-drying formulation allows efficient processing while offering ample open time for adjustments.
2. Applications
This adhesive is ideal for laminating large surface panels, including metal honeycomb composites, stainless steel to wood, and engineered wood structures. It is widely used in construction, transportation, woodworking, furniture, and specialty vehicle manufacturing. Common applications include interior gasket and seal attachment, flooring, wall lining, bonding polystyrene foam panels, and durable plastic or rubber laminations. Its excellent versatility makes it suitable for both general industrial and demanding structural projects.
3. Typical Properties
The adhesive combines high bond strength, water resistance, and flexibility across various substrates. It can be applied by brush or spray, forming uniform coats suitable for both porous and non-porous materials. With solids content around 23–27%, it delivers consistent coverage and adhesion. Its green-gray or light yellow color provides visual clarity during application, while compliance with GREENGUARD® and SCAQMD standards makes it suitable for regulated environments. Overall, it provides a balance of durability, process efficiency, and environmental performance for industrial bonding tasks.
