1. Product Overview

ARALDITE® 2051 A/B is a fast-curing, two-component methacrylate structural adhesive designed for high-strength bonding with excellent toughness and resilience to vibration, impact, and dynamic loading. It cures effectively in humid and underwater conditions, exhibits excellent weathering and ageing resistance, and requires minimal substrate pretreatment. The system bonds a wide variety of metals, plastics, and composites, and is suitable for service temperatures up to 120°C. Available as a paste, it can be applied manually or robotically using cartridge systems with integrated mixers.


2. Applications

  • Industrial & Structural Components: Marine applications, swimming pools, water tanks, windmill blades, pool equipment.

  • Automotive & Electronics: 3D printers, battery casing, brake pads, structural components, signs.

  • Compatible Substrates: ABS, ASA, Aluminum, Brass, CFRP, Ceramics, Copper, Ferrites, Galvanized Steel, Glass, GRP, Metals, Mild Steel, PMMA, PC, PVC, SMC, SAN, Wood.

  • Processing: Minimal surface preparation required; recommended cleaning with acetone or isopropanol; mechanical abrasion or chemical etching improves bond strength.

  • Application Range: 0°C to 40°C; cure times vary with temperature (LSS >1 MPa: 6–90 min, LSS >10 MPa: 10 min–2 h).
