1. Product Overview

ARALDITE® AV 138-2 / ARADUR® HW 5900 is a two-component, thixotropic epoxy adhesive formulated for high-performance metal bonding. It cures at room temperature to form joints with excellent chemical resistance, electrical insulation, and strong gap-filling capability up to 5 mm. Designed for demanding industrial and electrical applications, it delivers durable adhesion even under elevated temperatures or harsh environments.

3. Typical Properties

The system consists of a paste-like resin and hardener mixed at 0.4 (w/w) hardener-to-resin ratio. After curing for 7 days at 23°C, it provides a rigid, chemically resistant bond with strong mechanical and thermal performance. The cured adhesive develops high tensile and flexural strength, along with stable electrical insulation. Its glass transition temperature indicates reliable stability under moderate heat exposure. Shear strength on prepared aluminum substrates remains consistently high, demonstrating excellent metal adhesion.
