1. Product Overview

Araldite® CW 229 US Resin combined with Aradur® HW 229-1 US Hardener is a liquid, heat-curing two-component epoxy casting system filled with reinforcing materials. It cures into a resilient polymer offering superior mechanical strength, electrical insulation, and thermal endurance up to 200°C. The system is optimized for demanding electrical applications requiring long-term stability and resistance to thermal cycling.

2. Applications

This casting system is widely used in the production of electrical insulation components for medium- and high-voltage equipment, including SF₆-insulated systems. It is ideal for indoor insulation parts, APG (Automatic Pressure Gelation) processes, and large or small castings where strong mechanical, thermal, and electrical performance is essential.

3. Typical Properties

This epoxy system demonstrates outstanding performance in both processing and final cured states. With excellent fracture toughness, high tensile and flexural strength, and superior electrical insulation, it ensures reliable operation in harsh environments. The material provides stable viscosity for efficient processing, rapid gelation at elevated mold temperatures, and durability in thermal endurance applications.
