1. Product Overview

Araldite® FST 40020 and Araldite® FST 40021 are advanced, halogen-free, filler-free epoxy resin systems developed by Huntsman Advanced Materials. These systems are engineered to meet stringent fire safety standards, including UL 94 V0 ratings for both glass-fiber-reinforced plastics (GFRP) and carbon-fiber-reinforced plastics (CFRP) at 2 mm thickness. They are specifically designed for high-volume manufacturing processes such as High-Pressure Resin Transfer Molding (HP-RTM) and Wet Compression Molding (WCM), offering rapid curing times of 3 to 5 minutes at 115°C. These characteristics make them particularly suitable for producing large structural components, including battery housings in electric vehicles, where both mechanical performance and fire resistance are critical.
