Chemlok® 205 is a heat-activated primer/adhesive designed for bonding unvulcanized nitrile elastomer compounds to rigid substrates. It can be used either as a substrate primer under covercoat adhesives (e.g., Chemlok 230 series, 6000 series) or as a one-coat adhesive for certain nitrile rubbers. The formulation consists of polymers, organic compounds, and mineral fillers dispersed in an organic solvent system. It delivers high tear and cohesive strength, excellent environmental resistance, and convenient application by standard industrial methods.
As a primer: Under Chemlok covercoat adhesives (230 series, 6000 series) for multiple elastomer bonding.
As a one-coat adhesive: For bonding some nitrile rubber compounds to metal substrates.
Compatible substrates: stainless steel, aluminum, brass, other nonferrous metals, and steel.
Application methods: brush, dip, spray, or roll coat.
Industrial uses requiring strong adhesion and durability during vulcanization.

Chemlok® 205 dries in 30–45 minutes at room temperature, or faster at 65–93°C with forced air. It ensures strong primer performance when followed by covercoat adhesives, and reliable adhesion as a one-coat system for nitrile elastomers. Shelf life is one year under proper storage at 21–27°C in unopened containers.
