Chemlok® 6108 is a black, non-chlorinated solvent-based covercoat adhesive designed for bonding a wide range of elastomers to various metals. It is formulated with polymers, organic compounds, and mineral fillers dispersed in an organic solvent system. The adhesive provides superior resistance to heat, oils, and salt spray, making it highly durable in harsh environments. It can be used as a one-coat adhesive in some cases but is typically applied over Chemlok® 205 or 207 primer for enhanced performance.
Bonds elastomers such as NR, IR, BR, CR, NBR, SBR, IIR, EPDM, CPE, and CSM to metals.
Applied by spray, brush, or dip methods with recommended dry film thickness of 17.8–25.4 µm (0.7–1.0 mil).
Suitable for vulcanization curing during rubber molding.
Used in industrial environments where resistance to heat, oils, and salt spray is critical.

The adhesive maintains a stable black liquid form with moderate viscosity and a solid content range suitable for uniform coating. Its relatively low flash point requires careful handling away from ignition sources. The xylene solvent ensures effective film formation, while the density range contributes to consistent application performance. Once cured during vulcanization, the adhesive delivers strong environmental resistance.
