1. Product Overview

EPOCAST 36® is a two-component, pourable chocking compound designed as a modern replacement for traditional steel chocks. It provides excellent physical performance when used for mounting heavy-duty marine and industrial equipment such as main and auxiliary engines, gearboxes, steering gears, thrust bearings, and stern tubes. The compound ensures secure load transfer, compensates uneven surfaces, and significantly reduces noise and vibrations.

Key Features & Benefits:

  • Lightweight, simple, and economical to use.

  • Chemical resistant with high compressive and impact strength.

  • Applicable up to 100 mm chock thickness.

  • Nearly 100% force transmission to the base.

  • Eliminates the need for machining of foundations.

  • Adjustable viscosity by pre-heating resin.

  • Proven noise (5–7 dB) and vibration reduction.

  • Service temperature: –100°C to +80°C (constant load).

  • Working temperature: 13°C to 50°C.

  • Shelf life: 18 months.

2. Applications

  • Mounting of main and auxiliary engines.

  • Installation of gearboxes, steering gears, and thrust bearings.

  • Alignment and support of stern tubes and marine propulsion systems.

  • Heavy machinery foundations requiring vibration/noise absorption.
