1. Product Overview

MOLYKOTE® 111 Compound is a silicone-based grease and sealant designed for lubrication, sealing, and protection in various industrial applications.

Key Features:

  • Wide service temperature range: -40°C to 200°C
  • Excellent water resistance
  • Compatible with many plastics and elastomers
  • Low vapor pressure and volatility
  • Meets global standards for water contact (NSF 51, NSF 61, FDA 21 CFR 175.300, etc.)
  • Free of PTFE and PFAS

Composition:

  • Silicone oil
  • Inorganic thickener

2. Applications

  • Lubrication for control and pressure plug valves, water softener, and faucet valves
  • Sealant for vacuum and pressure systems, meters, electrical service, and underground connections
  • Anti-stick and sealant for transformer gaskets and enclosures
  • Damping medium for electrical and electronic equipment
  • Suitable for rubber and plastic O-rings, gaskets, and seals

4. Usage & Application

Application Methods:

  • Apply by hand, brush, wiping, or automated dispensing equipment
  • Can be thinned with xylene, mineral spirits, or methyl ethyl ketone for spray application

Important Notes:

  • Should not be used on surfaces to be painted (silicone may prevent adhesion)
  • Not compatible with liquid oxygen (LOX) applications
