1. Product Overview

Plexus® MA8120 is an advanced, direct-to-metal, low-halogen, two-part methacrylate structural adhesive. It is specifically engineered for bonding metals, composites, and engineered thermoplastics with minimal surface preparation. Supplied as a 1:1 mix ratio non-sagging gel, MA8120 offers a unique combination of high strength, toughness, and fatigue resistance, with superior thin film cure.

Key Features & Benefits:

  • Bonds galvanized and zinc-treated steel, aluminum, stainless steel, composites, PVC, polyester, and gel coats.

  • Excellent balance of strength, toughness, and fatigue resistance.

  • Low halogen content, suitable for sensitive applications.

  • Good chemical resistance (hydrocarbons, acids/bases pH 3–10, salt solutions).

  • Service temperature: continuous up to 250°F (121°C), intermittent higher.

  • Shelf life: 12 months (stored 13–25°C).

  • Available in 400-ml cartridges, 5-gal pails, or 50-gal drums.

2. Applications

  • Structural bonding of metals, plastics, and composites in transportation, marine, industrial, and construction sectors.

  • Direct-to-metal bonding with little to no surface preparation.

  • Large-scale assembly with bulk dispensing equipment.
