1. Product Overview
3M™ Neoprene High Performance Rubber and Gasket Adhesive 1300 is a solvent-based contact adhesive formulated for industrial use, delivering fast-drying, high-strength bonds. Known for its versatility, it provides excellent adhesion to neoprene, SBR, butyl, reclaimed rubbers, metals, wood, and most plastics. With an open time of 8–12 minutes, it allows easy positioning before forming durable, moisture- and heat-resistant bonds that withstand temperatures up to 148°C. Its compatibility with brush, flow, or spray applications enhances process efficiency, making it suitable for both everyday maintenance and demanding industrial operations.
2. Applications
This adhesive is widely used for gasket attachment, rubber bonding, and large-surface lamination across industries including general manufacturing, transportation, woodworking, military, and government. Key uses include bonding rubber gaskets to metal, attaching rubber sheeting, rubber-to-substrate bonding, rubber repairs, and sealing applications. Its performance in moisture-prone and high-heat conditions makes it suitable for MRO tasks, flooring, wall lining, and demanding assembly operations.
3. Typical Properties
The adhesive offers a strong combination of fast handling strength, repositionability, and durability in challenging environments. With a solids content of 34–39%, it ensures reliable coverage and bond integrity. Its yellow color aids application visibility, while compliance with GREENGUARD® and CARB regulations supports sustainable use. It remains flexible under stress, resists water and heat exposure, and maintains bond strength up to 121–148°C. Available in tubes, cans, and pails, it is compatible with industrial spray systems, ensuring adaptability for both small- and large-scale operations.
