DOWSIL™ CC-2588 is a one-part, transparent, medium-viscosity silicone resin blend conformal coating that cures to a tough, elastoplastic surface with excellent abrasion resistance. The coating is solvent-borne with high solid content, offers fast room-temperature curing without ovens, and includes a UV indicator for automated inspection. It is recognized under UL 94 flammability classification and meets IPC-CC-830 standards, making it reliable for demanding electronic applications requiring durability and long-term environmental protection.
The product is designed for rigid and flexible circuit boards, particularly electronic printed wiring boards (PWB) where enhanced toughness, abrasion resistance, and long-term reliability are critical. It can be applied using spray, brush, flow, dip, or automated pattern coating, providing flexibility for various production methods.
DOWSIL™ CC-2588 is engineered for robust protection of electronics with a balance of mechanical strength, abrasion resistance, and dielectric performance. In its uncured state, it is a colorless to pale yellow liquid with medium viscosity, allowing versatile application methods. After curing, it forms a hard, abrasion-resistant surface with strong tensile strength and elongation for flexibility. Electrically, it delivers high dielectric strength, low dissipation factor, and excellent volume resistivity, safeguarding sensitive PCB assemblies. The coating is stable over a wide operational range (-45 to 200°C), repairable, and provides UL 94 V-0 flame resistance, ensuring long service life under harsh conditions.
