DOWSIL™ PV-804 Neutral Sealant is a one-part, moisture-curing, neutral alkoxy silicone adhesive/sealant designed for long-term bonding and protection in photovoltaic (PV) applications. It provides adhesion to common PV substrates such as glass, aluminum, and backsheet polymers, while protecting components from mechanical shock, thermal cycling, and vibration. Its non-slump paste consistency allows precise application, and it cures at room temperature to form a flexible, durable seal that maintains integrity under environmental stress.
2. Applications
DOWSIL™ PV-804 is primarily used for junction box bonding and frame sealing in photovoltaic modules. The sealant ensures moisture protection, mechanical and thermal stress resistance, and vibration damping. Proper substrate preparation, including cleaning and degreasing, is required for optimal adhesion. Application involves tooling the material before it skins over, with cure depth and time influenced by temperature, humidity, and section thickness.
